What you will do

  • Create detailed and accurate technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics using CAD software (Revit and AutoCAD), following industry and project specific standards and codes.

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects and project managers on drafting, designing, and managing construction projects from repairs to new construction developments.

  • Communicate with contractors, subcontractors, and construction teams to ensure that designs are properly implemented and meet project requirements.

  • Maintain project documents, including design files, change orders, RFIs log, submittals and project schedules.

  • Participate in the creation of calculators to aid in the day-to-day design tasks.

  • Carry out field reviews and ensure general compliance with the construction documents.

  • Participate in quality control processes to ensure that designs meet project requirements and are completed on time and within budget.

  • Ensure a well established channel of communication between the clients and the team members.


What you will bring

  • An applied science, engineering or information technology program accredited at the technologist level by Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC) or equivalent.

  • Skilled with AutoCAD. Experience with Revit is a preference.

  • Knowledge of BC codes, standards, and compliances.

  • Solid understanding of wood-frame, concrete and steel structures and reading blueprints.

  • Knowledge of design software such as ETABS, SAP2000 and/or iRobot.

  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, and the ability to present solutions in a logical and concise manner.
