We are seeking a Contractor for a Forensic Structural Engineer in Calgary to join our Alberta team. If you are a self-starter who enjoys project work, solving problems, and working with clients - we want you on our team!

What you will do

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects and project managers on drafting, designing, and managing construction projects from repairs to new construction developments.

  • Prepare design calculations, drawings and specifications.

  • Prepare technical reports documenting the findings and conclusions of forensic investigations.

  • Communicate with contractors, subcontractors, and construction teams to ensure that designs are properly implemented and meet project requirements.

  • Provide quality control reviews, building assessments, and conduct inspections on properties to determine appropriate repair work.

  • Ensure a well-established channel of communication between the clients and the team members.


What you will bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in Structural engineering or related discipline and be registered as a Professional Engineer.

  • Minimum of five years of engineering experience in a similar industry or role.

  • Advance understanding and experience of wood-frame, concrete and steel structures and reading blueprints.

  • Varied knowledge of different building types; including residential, commercial, industrial and institutional.

  • Proven competencies in the following areas: technical writing, problem-solving with the ability to present solutions in a logical and concise manner.
