What you will do
Support Civil Engineers and Project Managers with field surveys, design calculations, drawing preparation and modeling with municipal projects including roadways, drainage, earthworks, water and sewage works, storm water and wastewater collection systems related infrastructure.
Deliver conceptual and preliminary engineering through planning, assessments, investigations, and analysis.
Perform detailed design work through detailed calculations, use of design software, selection of materials and equipment, preparation of reports, and assisting in the production of construction drawings and plans.
Prepare contract documents including tendering instructions, agreements, specifications, and associated drawings. Management of scope, schedule and budget for assigned projects.
Stakeholder management including client relations, and coordination with regulators and other third parties.
Conduct project and site reviews.
What you will bring
A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, a related discipline, or similar program that is eligible for registration with SASTT.
Minimum of two years of engineering experience in a similar industry or role with direct experience in the design and construction of water and wastewater facilities, drainage, roadway construction, or subdivision development.
In-depth knowledge of survey practices and procedures. Experience in construction layout survey and topographic survey would be an asset.
Experience with Civil3D design software, specifically surface and corridor modeling, and exporting of design elements for use with Trimble survey equipment.
Knowledge of local conditions, policies and procedures, and codes and standards a requirement.
